The Baltimore Sun is seeking a creative and innovative digital journalist who’s passionate about social media, building community, and user engagement. This individual will work with audiences and newsroom colleagues to cultivate meaningful connections with users and enhance and highlight The Sun’s offerings. He or she should be an active participant in online communities who meets users where they are and is curious about and energized by finding new ways to interact.
This person will work closely with other journalists during the daily news cycle, while staying abreast of trends in social media and actively embracing experimentation on social and mobile platforms. She or he loves breaking news, responds to tasks with a sense of urgency and willingly collaborates with colleagues and the community. She or he should comfortable taking the lead in content creation or pitching in to expand on the work and ideas of others.
